Ashley Wong is a Singaporean writer and producer whose work spans advertising, journalism, design and the music business.

1.At 16 I founded Wildflower Wax Co. in my childhood bedroom which quickly became one of Singapore’s foremost record stores, especially as the New Internet was forming. It expanded into brick-and-mortar within two years and was featured on Esquire, Vogue, Singapore Art Week and CNA Lifestyle.

It was my thing of dreams; but like many record collectors, I eventually found my way into this other thing called advertising. After cutting my baby teeth at a few agency stints, I sold Wildflower at 20 to move to the U.S. for college.

2.My work since has moved between major institutions and independent practice. I’ve held roles in design writing on Apple's Marcom team, editorial/strategy in New Media at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), copywriting and production at leading creative companies like VICE, Havas, and most recently, TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple's dedicated global agency.

Naturally, I also have an insatiable curiosity about America: I’ve reported on Congress and Trump’s second term for the Medill News Service, and my coverage of Virginia’s 2025 elections was published in The Washington Post.

3.I am finishing my B.S. and B.A. in Journalism and American Studies at Northwestern University, graduating in March 2027. I'm always on the lookout for high-impact roles in creative, strategy, media, and business, in between surfing the internet and waiting for you to drop a line.
